An elegant antique Japanese chocolate service, hand-painted with lush pink and burgundy roses, soft green foliage, and delicate gold detailing. The tall lidded chocolate pot has a beautifully angular gilt handle and sculptural form, echoed by five matching footed cups and four floral saucers.
Each piece is richly decorated, with variations in the hand-painted flowers giving the service the individual character that makes antique Nippon porcelain so appealing. The combination of romantic florals, pale porcelain, and generous gilding gives the set a wonderfully decorative presence.
The pieces bear a green “Hand Painted Nippon” backstamp. Beautiful displayed together in a china cabinet or on a collected table, the set also offers an especially charming way to serve chocolate or coffee.
