Antique French Vieux Paris Porcelain Cabinet Plates — Set of Six, c. 1840s

The central medallion features a finely executed ornithological study of a bird perched delicately on a flowering botanical branch, surrounded by soft wildflowers and natural foliage. The composition is beautifully balanced and highly detailed, reflecting the skill of 19th-century Paris porcelain painters.

A striking wide, pink-ground border frames the scene, richly molded with relief grapes and vine leaves, adding depth and elegance to the design. A hand-applied gilt ring separates the central white reserve from the decorative border, enhancing the plate’s refined presentation.

Period: Circa 1840s

Material: Fine hard-paste porcelain

This pre-owned antique plate is in good condition for its age, with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs observed. The gilding shows honest, age-appropriate wear, particularly to the inner gilt ring and light surface rubbing on the pink border, consistent with its antique character and adding to its authenticity. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
